Aaron Rodgers Opens Up About Sister-in-Law’s Influence — But Keeps Wife Brittani a Mystery
Aaron Rodgers continues to keep the identity of his bride, Brittani, a mystery, but he is opening up about another family member.
The 41-year-old NFL star revealed in an Aug. 1 interview with The Athletic that he found his way to the Pittsburgh Steelers team, thanks, in part, to his sister-in-law, Mia.
“I was taking orders from my (new) sister-in-law, Mia,” he said with a smile, per the media outlet. “She’s 20 and she’s the brains of the family; you just have to ask her.”
That might be the most information fans have received about Brittani and her family, even though it identifies Mia more than his wife. Rodgers, who married the very private woman sometime in 2025, has successfully kept her true identity under wraps. The first mention of Brittani was on The Pat McAfee Show in December 2024.
Rodgers dropped the dating bomb on the hosts while mentioning that a special Christmas gift for Brittani was running late.
Co-host A.J. Hawk knew that some hot tea was about to be spilled. He asked, “Spears?”
“Not Britney Spears, no, this is Brittani with an ‘I’,” Rodgers confirmed.
In May, he turned up on the red carpet at the Kentucky Derby with a ring that looked suspiciously like a wedding band. He confirmed the marriage at his first Pittsburgh Steelers press conference on June 10, and fans went scrambling to find out her identity with no luck.
Still, Rodgers shared he is feeling great about his personal life ahead of the football season.
“When you meet the right one and you’re with the right one, your whole world changes in a second,” he said on July 26 at the team’s training camp to the NFL Network. “And to have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there’s no better feeling in the world, and I have the most incredible wife.”
“I just really love her and I’m so thankful to have her by my side at the end,” he continued. “When you have that stability and that rock behind you at the house, you feel like you can do anything.”
Rodgers has been adamant about Brittani’s right to privacy, and that’s fair since he’s the one who signed up for a public life, not her.
“It’s a sick society, isn’t it? It’s a sick society,” the athlete said on the June 24 episode of The Pat McAfee Show. “I lived in the public eye for 20 years. I had public relationships. How did that work out? And now I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye. Didn’t sign up to be a celebrity. Doesn’t want to be a part of it. Because I do things in private because I want my personal life to be private, now I’m weird and now the paparazzi is stalking me … trying to get a picture of her.”
Hopefully, Brittani’s wishes will continue to be respected, but it’s going to be hard to do during the upcoming NFL season.
