Jennifer Aniston Opens up About Her Friendship With Michelle Obama After Wild Barack Rumor

Jennifer Aniston is spilling all the tea about her friendship with the Obamas and that wild rumor that came out of nowhere. 

The Morning Show star’s latest interview with Vanity Fair is setting the record straight about where she stands with Michelle and Barack Obama after an entertainment magazine alleged that Aniston and the former president were very friendly. Being the ultimate professional, the 56-year-old actress emphasized who she is really friends with. 

“I was lucky enough to have dinner with Michelle a month ago,” she revealed to the media outlet while gracefully noting that the gossip “wasn’t even brought up” during their time together. “I don’t think anyone really pays attention to reports like that if you’re the subject of them.” 

The rumor started in August 2024 when In Touch Weekly published a print-edition cover story titled, “The Truth About Jen & Barack,” which claimed Aniston and Barack Obama were “obsessed with each other” and Michelle felt “betrayed” by the situation. In October, the Friends star was more than happy to debunk the “cheesy tabloid” story with her cheeky sense of humor. 

“Of all the calls you get from your publicist, where you’re like, ‘Oh no, what’s it gonna be?’ Or the emails saying some cheesy tabloid’s going to make up a story, and then it’s that,” Aniston joked on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I was not mad at it.” She made sure that the late night show audience clearly understood the situation. “It is untrue. I’ve met him [Obama] once. I know Michelle more than him,” she added. 

Even bestie Sandra Bullock was baffled by the seemingly out-of-nowhere romance rumors. “We try to figure out the genesis of where some of these stories come from… but 75 percent of the time, we just cannot. They’re literally pulled out of the ether,” she told Vanity Fair. “She’s so beloved that you go, ‘I want that person to have their person’ even if that person doesn’t want a person.”

Aniston is now rumored to be dating hypnotherapist Jim Curtis, but she is keeping close to the vest on that hot topic. The only thing fans need to know is that she and Michelle are cool, and Barack has never been on her romance radar.
