Taylor Swift Agreed To Give Evidence in Justin Baldoni & Blake Lively Legal Battle on One Condition

Taylor Swift has made a decision about her participation in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal case, but she had a very specific request.

The agreement was revealed in Sept. 11 court documents filed by the It Ends With Us director’s legal tea, per Us Weekly. Swift is willing to be deposed by Baldoni’s lawyers sometime between Oct. 20 and Oct. 25. The dates were very specific due to the 35-year-old pop star’s “preexisting professional obligations.”

The legal filing noted that Swift had “agreed to appear” for a deposition, but her first availability was Oct. 20. However, TMZ reported on Sept. 12 that Swift did not agree to the deposition, her availability was only offered “in the case she’s forced to give testimony.“

Swift was dragged into her estranged BFF’s sexual harassment case because Baldoni “believes that Lively leveraged her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and celebrity friends to have influence over the film,” per the documents.

The “Shake It Off” singer’s representative made it very clear in May that Swift’s contributions to the film were limited to the use of her song, “My Tears Ricochet.”

“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,” Swift’s rep said, per People.

Still, the legal ramifications of Lively and Baldoni’s fight have reportedly come at a cost for Swift’s friendship with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star. A Page Six source claimed in February that Swift “can’t help but feel used” by Lively and didn’t “appreciate being referred to as one of Blake’s dragons.” It was a power move by Lively without Swift’s consent.

While there have been rumors of a reconciliation between the women, there’s been no public evidence to prove that. For now, Swift appears to be caught in the middle of Lively and Baldoni’s legal case.
