Priscilla Presley Reveals Which of Lisa Marie’s A-List Husbands She Found ‘Manipulative’

In Priscilla Presley’s upcoming memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, she revealed which of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s husbands she still considers “manipulative.”
For reference, Lisa Marie was married four times in her life. She was married to and had two children with Danny Keough, with whom she was married from 1988 to 1994. She was married to Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996, and then to Nicholas Cage from 2002 to 2004. She married and had twins with her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood, with whom she was married from 2006 to 2021.
Now, which one is Presley slamming? Per The Sun, it’s Michael Jackson.
“I was appalled by the marriage,” she wrote. “I knew in my bones that Michael wasn’t marrying Lisa Marie; he was marrying the Presley dynasty.”
She claimed he needed “good publicity” after he was hit with child molestation accusations, which he denied profusely. Priscilla added, “Michael was a manipulative man, and I think he had his sights set on her long before she realized it. The childlike innocence he projected was part of his public mask.”
So let’s back it up a bit. Lisa Marie and Jackson knew each other for decades, with Lisa Marie attending a concert of his in 1974. However, they connected as adults in 1992. In Lisa Marie’s posthumously released memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, she stated they reconnected after she recorded her first demo.
He was reportedly smitten right away, and then, 20 days after her relationship with Keough ended, Jackson and her got married. They married in 1994 in the Dominican Republic, but it didn’t last long.
In 1995, though, they publicly expressed wanting to have children together. In fact, Priscilla reportedly begged her to wait.
They split up for good in 1996, and Priscilla revealed her relief in her memoir, saying, “I could practically hear Elvis sigh with relief.”
