George Clooney Makes Admission About Amal Clooney Marriage That 'Ticks Everybody Off'
George Clooney knows how annoyingly perfect his marriage to Amal Clooney is.
“Amal and I famously, everybody gets ticked off when I say this, we’ve never had a fight, we’ve never had an argument,” the 64-year-old actor said during an interview with CBS News‘ Seth Doane that aired on Sunday, November 2.
Clooney elaborated on the claim, explaining that he’s just “too old” to care about things that might have bothered him when he was younger, adding that he’s “less angry” than he was in his youth.
“Well, when you’re younger, you want to be right about everything, you know. ‘Don’t paint that color on the wall,'” Clooney said, before insisting he doesn’t fight with his human rights lawyer wife. “And some of it is because I’m at this point in life where if she wants to paint the wall red, I don’t care.”
“You get to a point in life where you just go, ‘Why would that be a discussion or an argument?’ We have a really amazing relationship because we’re also so supportive of each other that it’s like, I don’t care,” Clooney said, adding that things would have been different when he was younger.
“I think I would have found things to, you know, stick my chest out about that I can go now, ‘It doesn’t matter, I don’t care,'” he said. Clooney went on to call his wife the “most extraordinary human I’ve ever met” and a “force for good.”
Clooney married Amal in 2014 after a year of dating. They welcomed twins, Ella and Alexander, in 2017.
Clooney previously claimed that he never argues with his wife in an April interview with CBS Mornings. “I remember we were here with you once before, and I remember we said we’d never had an argument,” he told host Gayle King. “We still haven’t. We’re trying to find something to fight about!”
“I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman,” he continued. “I feel as if I hit the jackpot.”
“There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world,” he said. “So it’s great.”
