Millie Bobby Brown Gushes About Her ‘Beautiful’ New Daughter — & How Motherhood’s Already Changed Her Life
Like Enola Holmes herself, we’ve had to chase clues to learn about Millie Bobby Brown’s baby daughter, who she adopted with husband Jake Bongiovi in August. The 21-year-old actress told TIME that the thing she “couldn’t live without” was her daughter, whose name has not been revealed, and she has shared an occasional picture of the little cutie. But she just opened up about motherhood for the first time (!!) and revealed how much her daughter has changed her life.
“[Motherhood’s] been a beautiful, amazing journey – she’s taught us so much already,” the Stranger Things star said in the December cover story of British Vogue. “Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy.”
Aww! Is that not the sweetest thing, ever? You can tell she is such a happy, joyful mom. Even before she had a baby, just talking about her future family plans had her glowing. Like, when she went on the SmartLess podcast in March, sharing that she “wanted to be a mom just like my mom was to me” ever since she can remember.
“I really want a family. I want a big family,” she continued, adding that her husband is on the same page. “I’m one of four, he’s one of four. So it is definitely in our future.”
In the interview with British Vogue, she shared that her and Bongiovi split parenthood duties equally. “We are 50-50 on everything,” Brown shared. “That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life – he is just the most amazing dad.”
But while she was forthcoming about motherhood and her amazing husband, she kept it mum about her baby. “I’m not going to,” she answered a question about her baby’s personality. “For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself. It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support. But right now, as she’s so little…”
“As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that,” she went on, adding that they won’t share her name until “she’s ready to decide for herself.”
With a fiercely protective mom like that, this baby girl is going to be alright!
