Brittany Cartwright Reveals Her Plan for Juggling the Holidays While Co-Parenting With Ex Jax Taylor
As the holiday season quickly approaches, many parents are scrambling to figure out how to juggle the special moments with a co-parent. What do you do when you both want to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with your little one?! Reality stars Brittany Cartwright is in the exact same boat with her ex Jax Taylor. The Vanderpump Rules alum opened up about figuring out holiday plans with their 4-year-old son Cruz, and it’s such a relatable struggle.
At BravoCon 2025, Cartwright revealed that Dec. 25 is her priority. “I always have Christmas,” she told Page Six. She explained that she and Cruz will head “home” to Kentucky, where she will visit her “huge” family who live on a farm.
“And [Cruz] has got all of his cousins and family, and like, so much love there,” she explained. “And that’s so important for me, and I don’t ever want him to miss that. And I don’t want to miss it either.”
Despite this idyllic-sounding plan for the holiday, Cartwright is still trying to figure out the details of the arrangement with Taylor, who would want to “have his own Christmas” with Cruz instead of coming with her.
“We’ll see how it goes,” she added. “I gotta navigate it, because a lot has changed right now.”
The exes met in Las Vegas in 2015, with Cartwright moving to Los Angeles to film alongside Taylor on the show, then starring in their own spinoff series, Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky. They got married in 2019 and had Cruz in 2021. Three years later, they announced their split.
In a September interview with Extra, Cartwright shared how things are “difficult” with co-parenting. “It’s Jax, so always difficult,” The Valley star said. “It’s always gonna be a challenge, but Cruz is the most important thing to both of us.”
“We’re trying to get to a common ground. It’s just going to take a little bit of time to heal,” she added.
Co-parenting during the holidays can feel impossible, but having a positive attitude, putting your child first, and staying flexible can make a big difference.
