Keith Urban's Reported Change of Heart Has Nicole Kidman's Friends 'Begging Her' Not To Give in

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s friendship might be taking a warmer turn in the New Year.

Since the 58-year-old actress filed for divorce on September 30, their relationship has been notably “frozen,” per Rob Shuter’s Substack. However, the holiday season may have thawed some of those feelings after the National Enquirer reported that “Keith has done a real 180 the last few weeks” and worked on establishing a co-parenting friendship with his ex.

The former couple shares two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, but they’ve been with their mom in Australia over the Christmas holiday. Kidman and Urban’s original plan had been to stay in Nashville, but “Keith was a real gentleman about it, which definitely softened her heart towards him,” a source claimed to the outlet.

That move has put Kidman’s pals on high alert because they are reportedly “terrified she’s going to get sucked back in” and are “begging her not to let nostalgia cloud her judgment.” Right now, she’s “she’s finally free to put herself first,” instead of catering to Urban’s whims and wishes.

It also sounds like the 58-year-old country superstar is having second thoughts about his divorce. According to a Woman’s Day magazine source, via the Daily Mail, Urban finds his new single life to be a “lonely existence.” The insider added, “…He’s exhausted, isolated, and looking at a future he never imagined. He’s also lost his best friend, Nicole, who was also his greatest supporter in life, and he’s wondering if he’s made a huge mistake.“

Kidman is booked and busy in 2026 with The Practical Magic sequel making its way to theaters, hosting the 2026 Met Gala, and the TV show, Margo’s Got Money Troubles. But other sources are backing away from the rumors that Urban cheated on his wife of 19 years, which might have her rethinking her divorce.

“This was not triggered by any explosive wrongdoing,” a RadarOnline source said. “After years of juggling intense professional demands, they gradually realized their paths were no longer aligned.”

If that’s the case, perhaps Kidman and Urban are open to a reconciliation in 2026, even though her friends want to stay far away from her ex.
