Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Prince William may have a much smaller staff than before, but many still wonder what it’s like to be a nanny for their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. But now, resurfaced reports show exactly what it was like.
In a 2024 resurfaced interview from HELLO!, Norland College as William-trained childcare professional Louenna Hood spoke to the outlet about what the Wales’ children’s nanny Maria Teresa Borrallo has to do for them; including staying in the backseat.
“Being a support and alliance to your charge is increasingly important as the children grow into young adults,” she said. “Car journeys usually prove a great place to become a listening ear, so you understand what your charge is finding difficult at school or what they are particularly enjoying.”
We’ve gotten glimpses over the years about what their nanny does, including handling screen time for the three children.
Kate: The Future Queen author and royal expert Kate Nicholl reported on OK! that Catherine “won’t allow Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis their own devices” during their younger years, and their nanny has to abide by this. “The emphasis during this time will be on arts and crafts, painting, and doing things that aren’t screen-orientated,” she said. “Kate is usually very strict on screen time and keeps it to a minimum.”
There was also the rule about fussy eating and banned words.
