Jodie Turner-Smith Shared the ‘Sweet’ Way Taylor Swift Overruled Her Team to Make Her Feel Welcome on ‘Opalite’ Music Video Set
When Jodie Turner-Smith’s special request for appearing in Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” music video was initially denied, The Life of a Showgirl singer herself stepped in to make things right. The Queen & Slim actress just revealed the “sweet” way Swift went against her own team to make Turner-Smith feel welcome.
Turner-Smith recently told People that she was honored when Swift asked her to make a cameo in the music video. “When she hit me up and was like, ‘Hey, will you do this?’ I was like, ‘Say less,'” she recalled.
However, she just had one request: that she be allowed to bring her 5-year-old daughter, Juno, who she shares with ex Joshua Jackson, to the set with her.
“They were like, ‘Please, no, because we don’t want her to tell anyone,’” Turner-Smith said about Swift’s management team. “And Taylor was like, ‘I want to meet her.’ So that was so sweet.”
Aww! That probably made the little girl’s whole world to get to meet Swift, and we love that she did that for her. And her daughter kept up her end of the bargain.
Turner-Smith added, “[Swift is] so cool and down to earth and wonderful, and it was interesting keeping it a secret. I’m so proud of my daughter for not telling anyone.”

After the music video was released, the Tron: Ares actress shared several behind-the-scenes pictures of the experience on Instagram. These included two snaps of Swift giving Juno a big hug, which melts our hearts.
“continue to be in awe of you @taylorswift ????????,” Turner-Smith captioned the post. “your creativity, your intelligence, your wit, your generosity, your grace. i had so much fun doing this, and the entire time i was thinking ‘taylor directing me again when??’! ????”
It seems like that “Opalite” music video set was magical for both Turner-Smith and her daughter. We love that for them!
