As a busy working mom of two, people are shocked when I tell them I actually enjoy cleaning my home. For me, it’s not just another mundane task; it feels kind of like therapy. I like to tackle cleaning with a good podcast or show playing in the background, so I can check out and have some time to myself, even if it means doing dishes or laundry. Because I use a lot of cleaning products, I wanted safer options for my kids and pets. That’s when I found Orange House and was eager to try their orange oil-crafted products.
When I unboxed the Orange House products, I was surprised by how much each container held — more than any other cleaning products I had purchased recently. And if you’re new to the brand like me, note that it positions itself as a premium, eco-conscious, and effective home care brand that offers shoppers safe and natural cleaning solutions. What sets it apart from its competitors is the use of orange oil (more on that later). I’ll admit, I was skeptical about trying natural home care products since I haven’t been impressed with others, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Ahead, learn more about how orange oil effectively cleans through grease and dirt, plus read my honest reviews of Orange House’s bestselling products.
How Citrus Cleaning Power Works with Water to Remove Oily Messes
I have never thought of using a common fruit as a cleaning agent in my home, especially for dishes and laundry, so the use of it across all of the brand’s products was a pleasant surprise. The scent is so aromatic and pleasant, but don’t let that fool you. Orange House notes that citrus has been a trusted cleaning agent for “so long” because it’s proven to eliminate oily messes — even in the kitchen.
I learned that I have to constantly rinse my dishes because oil and water don’t mix, which is why it’s always a struggle to get them clean. “When you rinse greasy surfaces with water alone, the oil can smear, spread, or reattach instead of washing away completely,” Orange House said. That’s why you need to clean with an agent that will bind the grease.
Enter citrus oils. These naturally contain components that readily bind to oily residues. “These oil-attracting molecules attach to grease and loosen it from surfaces,” the brand explained. “That’s why citrus cleaners don’t just cover odors — they actively break grease down.”

Liquid Hand Soap
Orange House Natural Liquid Hand Soap
Orange House’s liquid hand soap was the first product I tested from the brand, and it was love at first sniff. Once I opened the bottle, the fresh scent of oranges permeated throughout my kitchen.
Aside from its fresh scent, I appreciated its light lather, which left my hands feeling clean without the pesky, dry feel that other formulas leave behind. This is one of the first naturally made soaps I wasn’t disappointed in because of the lack of lather.
My Verdict: I added a few more bottles of the soap to my Amazon cart so I can keep one in each of my bathrooms.
Liquid Laundry Detergent
Orange House Liquid Laundry Detergent (4L)
Now that I have an infant in the house, I’m hypervigilant about what I’m using in my laundry room lineup, which is why this free-and-clear detergent is right on time. The formula is chemical-free, which eliminates harsh skin reactions. Instead, the detergent is made with grease-beating orange oil that lifts stains from clothes in one wash. I was nervous that the clothes from my eldest daughter’s sports practices wouldn’t smell fresh, but the liquid detergent left them smelling fresh.
My Verdict: The amount of detergent you get for the price is worth it, and its cleaning capabilities are impressive.
Laundry Detergent Pods
Orange House Laundry Detergent Pods
If you’re not a fan of liquid detergent, Orange House also offers pods. I opened the package expecting a traditional pod, but these are shaped like oranges and feel soft. Like Orange House’s other products, these pods are plant-based and crafted with a blend of orange oil, sodium laureth sulfate (which helps lift dirt), and glycerine subtilisin (removes protein-based stains).
I tossed one in for a load of my laundry and noticed the pods clean clothes similarly to the detergent. The only difference? The scent is more prevalent in the detergent versus the pods.
My Verdict: I will stick with the liquid detergent since it offers more product.
Dishwasher Tabs
Orange House Plant-Based Dishwasher Tabs (56 Count)
You can also add less harmful dishwasher tabs to your home. Here’s how these work: The tablets are filled with Orange House’s proprietary formula or orange oil, which removes grease and food residue without leaving a filmy residue behind. I was skeptical when I learned that the brand reports these tabs remove food “2.5 times more efficiently” than others on the market, so I put it to the test.
I packed my dishwasher with bowls with salad dressing (this featured tons of oils), plates with traces of dinner, and utensils from my daughter’s oatmeal breakfast, and after the cycle ran, I was shocked. I didn’t have to re-run my dishwasher, and each dish was clean.
My Verdict: I will be stocking up on these from now on.
Color Changing Foaming Hand Soap
Orange House Color Changing Foaming Hand Soap
If you want your children to wash their hands thoroughly, this foaming soap is your new secret weapon! My 10-year-old often needs reminders about when to wash, so I let her try Orange House’s color-changing formula. It lathers well and shifts from orange to white as it removes germs, dirt, and grime. The color change also acts as a fun timer for the recommended washing duration.
My Verdict: Every parent needs this soap in their home to encourage independent hand washing!
Even though the products are more expensive than your everyday, typical cleaning products, it’s so worth it! Each product performs effectively, making them worth the cost. Take my word for it, give Orange House a permanent spot in your cleaning rotation!
