The best I can come up with is that the plan was for Cardiff to stop defending and we capitalise on a lapse in concentration.
Reading reactions last night, it was striking how many different, specific things people had to blame: players not trying, the players are bad, GR is useless, Wayne Rooney wrecked our confidence, the Board are to blame, Craig Gardner's recruitment has put us in this mess etc. I will now try to disagree with everyone by explaining why I think it's actually none of these things, and all of them.

If you see it, it perfectly encapsulates our season.
Paik takes a horrendous touch and loses the ball. Buchanan lets the guy pass and then run past him. Sanderson makes a poor effort to close down. Aiwu doesn't sense any danger and stays out with a wide player...because Laird is utterly AWOL.

I’m not having it at all. What we needed was a winger or two that could get in behind, stretch the play, give Stansfield some more support etc.
These sort of players create so much space and help the striker. Stansfield is playing with him back to goal almost every time, these sort of players help the striker with opportunities where they are facing the goal. He is feeding off scraps and nobody is getting close to him or going past him to do this.

Problems aside.
Let’s just assume, under some form of footballing miracle, that we stay up.
In the summer, who stays out of the current squad, and I mean serious answers, no knee jerk “all of them Tom” type answers.
I like the look of Paik, I think there’s a good footballer in there, and Buchanan and Laird I think have what it takes in a good side with proper coaching.
Jordan James has potential, but I suspect he will be off for a move.

Well why don’t YOU shut the eff up, stop waving your arms about to the fans, learn how to play a simple 5 yard pass, and when you fail (again) to do so actually RUN back in to position rather than jog very slowly and aimlessly in the general direction of the corner flag?
Surely we have to get him into the squad and onto the pitch, forget what’s happened off the field (which we don’t know about) but something must have gone off and get him into 11, that match against Sunderland he was unplayable at times, he can unlock a defence and score goals, also what happened to Romelle Donovan? Two, maybe three can hint that they might come out of this season with any modicum of credit…the rest are an embarrassment to professional football and should be ashamed of themselves.
That Lee Clark as manager and Lee Novak (no slight on either) leading the line managed to keep us up at various points only magnifies just how poor these players are as a collective.
Get rid, get rid and get rid.
