Found in loft Birmingham City magazine 1992, #2 (5 replies)
Don't know why only that year was kept, and even then not all of them were. There was a lot of computer mags, a few Star Trek collection mags... And a solo Birmingham City mag from 2nd October 1992, issue number 2. I don't know why this one was kept and not the others. I don't think it ran for very long and I know I had problems finding it and searched high and low for a few weeks for copies without luck.
Some of the contents:
- Devlin on the front and as the main story, and interview with him, his contract negotiations and that he wanted to stay but the contract had to be right...
- Match reports vs Stoke at home (2-0), Coca Cola Cup first round Gillingham away first let (0-1) / second leg home (3-0), Reading home (3-0)...
- An interview with the kit manager (Richard Clark) abut washing the kit and superstitions.
- The mag's pick of the best Blues team ever (Gil Merrick (GK), Ken Green (LB), Trevor Smith (CB), Alberto Tarantini (CB), Jeff Hall (RB),Jimmy Bloomfield (M), Johnny Vincent (M), Jose Dominguez (W), Trevor Francis (S), Eddie Brown (CF), Frank Worthington (S), subs: David Seaman (GK), Julian Dicks (FB), Trevor Hockey (M/W), Bob Latchford (CF), Barry Bridges (S)
- Tom Ross column moaning about refs and arguing for a sin bin.
- Tony Hey player profile.
- Graham Wray dreaming of promotion to the Premier League and what that would mean for money, TV rights and signings.
- A reflection from Francis on the past few games and on Devlin's contract situation.
Honestly not sure what to do with it. Feels like it should go into someone's hands that will appreciate it and archive it, although it's not a complete collection and those kind of people may already have copies...
