newblueI’m interest in this as a mate bought me a subscription for County Cricket Magazine which claimed there were about quarter of a million following County cricket scores on line on the final day last year. I don’t know how they verified that (if they did).

I thought I’d look up some figures about County cricket in particular. A couple of interesting articles

Somerset said they were getting around 250,000 per match. I was surprised by these figures, but I don’t think the game is quite as moribund as is reflected in the attendance at County matches - it was poor back in the 60’s when I first went.
Just interesting to reflect on the numbers.
The elephant in the room is that there are too many county teams to be sustainable. But there is no correct way to ever rectify that.
