FBI: Gun Sales Spike Through November

0

The FBI released the update on the NICS Firearm Checks by Month/Year for the last decade. Statistics representing the number of firearms background checks initiated through the NICS from November 1998 to November 30, 2020 are included in the chart.

The numbers below include the monthly NICS firearms checks for 2020. The total for the year thus far is 35,758,249, with December figures to come.

Media cannot be held responsible for the spike in sales, or so the journals and networks and social media outlets believe.

However, after months of graphic scenes of uncontrolled violence and lockdowns and increased joblessness and homelessness being pounded into the public daily, Americans felt threatened.

Add to that the call for defunding of the police, Americans proved through purchase of defensive weapons that they had to prepare to defend themselves.

Add to the graphic scenes and descriptions is the knowledge that officials allowed the mayhem and/or reveled in it to promote their agendas. In the states with most rioting, such as California and Oregon, guns sales spiked.

Rumors splashed all across social media of impending violence if Biden does not become the next unity President or if he does because many believe the election was stolen, is part of the overall equation of Americans arming up for self defense.

Compare those figures to the chart below and you find a 40% spike in sales in the last month of 2020 compared to the previous year. And you will notice that in every single month of 2020 vs 2019, the background checks increased. You will also notice that after the March Lockdowns and later the BLM and anti rioting started, the sales in the months of May through Nov 2020 spiked significantly compared to the same months in the previous year.

Overall, as January and February also saw increases over 2019, the total including estimates for December, of NICS background checks in 2020 are 25%+ higher. Since the last decade, 1999, the number of yearly NICS background checks has quadrupled.
