Gov. Reynolds signs new Public Health Disaster proclamation

Today, Gov. Reynolds signed a new Public Health Disaster proclamation that relaxes existing public health measures effective Sunday, February 7th, 2021 while continuing critical regulatory relief to those on the frontlines of COVID19 recovery for an additional 30 days.
The proclamation strongly encourages Iowans, businesses, and organizations to take reasonable public health measures consistent with guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
The proclamation is also modified to reflect changes due to the passage of Senate File 160 and extends the waiver on transportation restrictions for overweight loads.
Schools should open, masks are not mandatory, 1st and 2nd Amendment rights are protected is the gist of the proclamation. Bottom Line: You are adults and responsible. Make the right choices to protect yourself and others without being held hostage to Governmental executive overreach. Medical services would be available under right guidance. Veteran services should resume and 2nd Amendment restrictions are to be lifted back to normal.
The decision was controversial and shunned by those still buying into all the control measures of the previous year. A whole year of locking down and mask wearing and the overhyped pandemic keeps on rolling during flu season.
The Mayor of Des Moines exerted his own authority. Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie announced the city’s mask mandate, which went into effect Aug. 26, will remain in place despite Gov. Kim Reynolds lifting the state’s mask and social distancing requirements.
The Governor’s goal was to cut collateral damages, of students out of school and experiencing stress and psychological problems, lack of proper care medically, businesses floundering or going under.
Time to get back to a normal existence was her message and be aware of necessary precautions when needed. Adults have always known to take precautions necessary when conducting normal activities such as driving, etc.
Covid precautions and preventive measures such as making vaccines available and responsibly administered as well as testing are to remain diligent.
Bottom line, the Governor is treating her constituents like adults and telling the publicity hound and non medical Dr Fauci, who makes up new rules constantly and has stated damaging false predictions in order to stay in the public eye, to pound sand.
It is a very well thought out long proclamation but here are some highlights of 2nd Amendment protections and care of veterans.
Recent studies have shown that states such as NY and Michigan and California run by power grabbing Governors who locked down their constituencies endlessly have suffered the most in terms of loss of revenues and hemorrhaging of businesses and residents.
