Though they live the rest of the year in Vadnais Heights, not 15 minutes from the fairgrounds, the McPhillips family of four — father Ben, mom Shane and daughters Savannah, 13, and Scarlett, 11 — relocate to a campground just outside the Minnesota State Fair’s northeast gates for the entirety of its run.
