A festival at Lake Nokomis on Friday evening celebrated the monarch butterfly - including a woman who is biking along with monarchs on their annual spring migration from Mexico to Canada; a kids' bike ride with her; kite-building for children; science booths; pollinator gardens, etc. Event was hosted by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to highlight environmental threats to the monarch and a federal effort to restore butterfly habitat along a migration corridor from Texas to Minnesota.
