Man, 38, killed in Garfield Park shooting

A 38-year-old man died Friday afternoon after he was shot in Garfield Park, Chicago police said.

The man was shot twice — in the chest and in the abdomen — about 4:45 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of South Pulaski Road, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

A 22-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene, and a gun was recovered, police said.
