Is Jennifer Aniston Dating a Hypnotist?
Over the past year, Jennifer Aniston has been the subject of some truly outlandish dating rumors. There was speculation that she was dating a very much married Barack Obama last summer, and a few months ago, she had one dinner with Pedro Pascal that immediately sparked whispers of a relationship. (Aniston herself denied the former, anonymous sources the latter.) Now, it looks like she might actually be dating a new man. Over the weekend, the actress was photographed in Mallorca with Jim Curtis, a self-described “wellness pioneer, author, [and] hypnotist.” The pair were meeting up with Aniston’s close friends, Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka, before heading out to a yacht party (because it is illegal for famous people to be on dry land right now).
For clarity’s sake, Curtis is a hypnotist in the spiritual, hypnotherapy way, not in the party-magician way. According to the Daily Mail, Aniston has been following Curtis on social media for almost two years, where she’s liked many of his posts about affirmations, manifestation, and the power of vulnerability. So are they dating, or is Aniston just bringing her favorite enlightened influencer on vacation? A source told “Page Six” that they had seen Aniston and Curtis at a luxury hotel in Big Sur last month, where they were apparently “wrapped in a gray blanket” together. First, a getaway for just the two of them up the coast; then, a yacht party with Jason Bateman. Sounds like romance to me.
If you would like to get a sense of what Curtis is like, I really recommend falling down the rabbit hole of his Instagram. He is very handsome in a way that looks high-effort, and most of his content is direct-to-camera affirmations for his followers to repeat on their own. Speaking of Instagram, the Daily Mail pointed out that Aniston had included Curtis’s book Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide: A Workbook for Coding a New Consciousness in a photo dump from May. Have you ever been down so bad for a man that you were doing homework?
In one video from June, Curtis was asked about starting over at 37. “At 37, know that many people have had such incredible experiences in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, including myself,” Curtis answered. “If you want to find love at 37, get out there and show that you are an infinite soul and can have anything that you want.” Is the same true of 56-year-olds? Why not! Aniston liked the post, I imagine to show that she too is an infinite soul capable of having anything she wants.
