Charli XCX’s Wedding Reception Looked Molto Bene
Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. XCX, who clearly know how to throw a wedding. After tying the knot in a small ceremony in London earlier this summer, Charli and the 1975’s George Daniel threw a much bigger celebration in Sicily last week. We’d already seen paparazzi shots of their ceremony and pre-wedding cocktail hour, plus a few shots of the couple in Italy on Charli’s Instagram, but now is the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Charli’s photo dump of the reception has arrived.
She shared photos from the event on Instagram on Thursday, and naturally, it was a star-studded gathering. The whole brat pack showed up to sip Aperol spritzes in formal attire — including, according to the photos, Julia Fox, Gabbriette, Troye Sivan, Caroline Polachek, Alex Consani, Rachel Sennott, and Robyn. Matty Healy was there and apparently took over the DJ booth to play “Call Me Maybe” while smoking a cigarette. Swedish rapper Yung Lean later performed as Charli danced onstage in a black leather bra while Gabbriette and Healy crowd-surfed.
In classic wedding fashion, the bride invited a few of her co-workers. A number of Charli’s biggest collaborators were there for the occasion, including her producer, A.G. Cook, and her manager, Katie Rowley. Songwriters Finn Keane and Lotus IV were also spotted celebrating, as was Aidan Zamiri, who directed the “360” music video, and Petra Collins, who photographed Charli’s Skims campaign last year. Playwright Jeremy O. Harris, who is reportedly working on a movie with Charli, was there too.
The attendees seemed to have a pretty great time, spending the weekend jumping off yachts, eating prawns, and drinking bottle after bottle of Italian wines. Based on photos she previously posted, we know Charli also found time to sip espresso martinis with Gabbriette and Devon Lee Carlson, do a little sightseeing, and snap some hotel-room selfies with her new husband.
Looks like a night to remember. She’s everywhere, she’s so Giulia!
