Drake’s Euro Summer Ended With Denim Lederhosen
Today marks the autumnal equinox, which means that summer has officially come to a close. It’s fitting, then, that Drake is just about to wrap up his Some Special Shows 4 U tour, which has allowed him to bop around Europe all summer posting Instagram photo dumps like a college junior with a Eurail pass. To honor the end, he posted the final boss of traveling abroad carousels: a lengthy documentation of him attending Oktoberfest.
Since July, Drake has performed in nine different European countries, and based on his Instagram he’s been having a ball in every one of them. The Toronto rapper kicked things off in London, where he performed a series of shows he referred to as “the best 3 nights of my performance career.” He then made his way around England and couldn’t help himself from getting in on the Jet2holidays craze that swept TikTok earlier this summer.
Being a celebrity means that you get access to a lot of stuff that other people don’t. Dua Lipa, for example, seeks out conversations with some of the greatest living authors. Drake went to the headquarters of a much-meme’d company and asked to put on a hi-vis vest. Different strokes for different folks.
After his U.K. stint, Drake went to Amsterdam where he hung out with Kevin Durant and took pouty mirror selfies.
The tour then took Drake to Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, and Denmark, which brought about a low point in his photo dumps. Too much concert footage, not enough touristy photos. Thankfully, he was in Italy at the end of August, which brought the Ryanair energy back to his feed.
During that leg, he wrote in one post, “Things that could have happened already happened or are still happening…” a caption that could have easily been penned by your freshman-year roommate after an eye-opening night of partying with people who don’t speak any English. If you scroll through this carousel, you will see that one of the things happening that already happened is Drake getting a shirt that says “Nothing Scares Me My Wife Is Italian.” You have to get a fun T-shirt while abroad.
That brings us to this weekend. Drake was performing in Munich during Oktoberfest, which obviously meant he had to get denim Chanel lederhosen and drink a giant beer.

I have to admit, this summer tour seems like the most fun Drake has had in a long time. He started 2025 having to witness Kendrick Lamar perform “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl with everyone in America singing along. That had to be rough. However, since immemorial, people have taken long trips to Europe to get their mind off of their troubles back home. Just like the rest of them, I imagine Drake will be returning to North America with some kind of weird, fake accent. I hope it’s Italian.
