Sounds Like Martha Stewart Changed Her Mind About Taylor Swift’s Wedding
I wouldn’t necessarily call Martha Stewart a woman of humility. But when it comes to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, it seems America’s favorite homemaker no longer wants to be involved. Last month, after the couple announced in a joint Instagram post that they’d gotten engaged, Stewart jokingly offered up her services as “the ultimate wedding planner.” But based on an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show this week, she seems to have realized that this would actually be a nightmare. When Barrymore suggested Stewart lend some of her decorative expertise to the wedding of the year, she responded, “Drew, I would never be so presumptuous as to suggest that I do their wedding.” She added politely, “I mean, if they want me to do their wedding, of course I would do their wedding.”
“But I’m not a wedding planner,” she added. “But I am a wedding expert, and I could probably create a special … they’re gonna do such a great job.”
Stewart went on to praise Swift’s “huge performances” and her “amazing” work ethic, hinting that the singer and billionaire probably doesn’t need little ol’ Martha to make sure things go off without a hitch. Barrymore, however, gently pushed back. “If you were to take on anything, I just know nothing’s going to get screwed up,” she said. “You’re Martha Stewart. It doesn’t get better.”
Well, clearly Stewart disagrees. She made similar comments about Traylor’s upcoming nuptials while speaking to TMZ on Wednesday — when the reporter asked if Stewart had a vision for their wedding, she replied, “I think the dear vocalist knows what she’s doing.” Doubling down, she added, “She doesn’t need me … She has Travis.” What I’m gathering is that Martha is either too busy launching a skin-care company or, more likely, that she’s just not in the mood for all the fuss. She’d probably rather light one up with Snoop than have to figure out where to seat all three of the Haim sisters.
