Dolly Parton Postpones Vegas Residency Due to ‘Health Challenges’
It’s been nearly 32 years since Dolly Parton last embarked on a Las Vegas residency, but it seems fans will have to wait a little longer for her grand Sin City return. On Sunday, the country singer announced that she has postponed her upcoming set of shows at Caesars Palace due to “health challenges.” In an Instagram post set on her signature silver-glitter stationery, the 79-year-old wrote that her doctors had recommended she undergo a “few procedures.” “I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” Parton wrote. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
Parton was set to kick off her six-show residency at the Colosseum in December, but those shows will now take place in September 2026. But of course, Parton — who is known for poking fun at her breast implants and uncannily tight skin — found some much-needed levity in the situation. “It must be time for my 100,000-mile checkup, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” she added.
As she approaches her 80s and processes the loss of her husband, Carl Dean, earlier this year, America’s favorite cowgirl assured fans she has no plans to retire. “While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say,” she wrote. “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.” Hope she gets well soon! I’m sure she’ll be back in her rhinestones and a Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders uniform in no time.
