The Love Is Blind Reunion Did Not Live Happily Ever After
Season nine of Netflix’s Love Is Blind made history in that it was, well, a total failure: the series’ first “experiment” to end in exactly zero marriages. That’s right, none of the couples who got engaged in the pods during the early episodes of the season stayed together long enough to legally commit to each other for eternity. This made for an interesting reunion last night: Hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey couldn’t ask anyone about their happy relationships and instead were forced to dwell on what went wrong and what contestants are still stewing over one and a half years later. (Filming for this season wrapped all the way back in May 2024.)
Still, the reunion offered some surprising updates about the cast. Here’s everything you need to know about where these fledgling Denver influencers stand today.
“Sparkle Megan” had a baby, but not with Jordan
During filming, Megan Walerius — better known by her self-styled nickname, “Sparkle Megan” — got engaged to Jordan Keltner. Ultimately, the pair did not make it down the aisle as Megan broke things off due to “lifestyle differences.” (Megan is a high-powered businesswoman; Jordan is a service manager and single dad.)
Megan expressed some hesitation about starting a family during the season, but happily for her, she quickly decided to move forward once filming wrapped. At the reunion, she revealed that she is now a mom to a 2-month-old boy named Brooks. The dad? A nice-looking bald man named Paul, who was seated in the audience. Megan explained that she started dating Paul in July 2024 and got pregnant three months later, and she managed to hide her pregnancy from the rest of the cast (and the press, who only caught wind of her new bundle of joy this month). Everyone at the reunion appeared to be shocked by the revelation, except for Jordan — Megan graciously gave him a heads-up about this new update in her life.
Joe dated … everyone
One of the toughest relationships to watch unfold this season was between Joe Ferrucci and Madison Maidenberg. After the two got engaged, Joe quickly revealed that Madison was not his “usual type” (“skinny” and “petite”). The two called things off before the weddings and went their separate ways.
At the reunion, however, Joe acknowledged that he started dating Kacie McIntosh, another contestant, after filming wrapped. The two were together for about a month and a half before Joe started dating yet another woman, Averee Madison, who was not on the show but familiar to some others in the cast. (She’s been talking on podcasts about how Kacie still wants her man.)
Madison seems to be fine and friendly with Averee, but not so much Kacie. During the reunion, she claimed that during an all-cast pool party last summer, Kacie “had the audacity to tell me we are Eskimo sisters.” Yikes!
Kacie gets to keep her engagement ring after all
A funny postseason story line was Kacie’s insistence on keeping her engagement ring from Patrick Suzuki. The two got engaged in the pods but quickly broke up (in a dramatic and confusing fashion, of course). On Love Is Blind, production provides the engagement rings, and creator Chris Coelen has said that the cast is free to keep them regardless of if they stay together or not. In this instance, Patrick asked Kacie for the ring back after they broke up, and she declined.
The two rehashed all of their post-filming texts and meetups on the reunion, and Kacie ultimately decided to give the ring back to Patrick onstage. But then, the Lacheys brought out Chris Paul of the L.A. Clippers (?) to host a shoot-out between the two former fiancés. Kacie ended up winning, and thus, she got the ring back again before the reunion was over. Okay! Personally, I’d love to know what these baubles are going for on the resale market.
