Unraveling the Mormon Wives Fruity Pebbles Drama
If there’s anything the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives wives are going to do, it’s fight with each other and air it out all on social media. Well, folks, they’re at it again, and I’m so sorry to have to share this with you all, but it involves drinking pee. Let’s get right into it, shall we?
I’m sorry, what?
You heard me. To understand what’s going on here, we need to go back to the show’s first season. In the third episode, which came out in September 2024, Whitney Leavitt gave Demi Engemann a gift-wrapped box full of “fruity cereal.” By way of explanation for the gift, she told her fellow wives Mayci Neeley and Mikayla Matthews that the cereal was somehow related to a story Demi had shared about a sexual act with her husband. The women were pretty coy about what actually happened, but Whitney gave one hint as to what they were whispering about, telling a producer that the “fruity cereal has to do with taste.”
Demi opened the gift at her Galentine’s Day party and seemed pretty pissed (sorry) about it. “This specific thing that she was trying to make light of and make a joke was something that was completely intimate and off the table that was between Bret and I — we swore to each other we would never tell a soul about that,” she said in a talking head.
So what does Jessi have to do this?
One year and two seasons later, Jessi Ngatikaura and Demi are in the midst of a huge feud involving Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette. In season two of Vanderpump Villa, which came out in April 2025, the Mormon wives showed up in Italy for a crossover episode, where they met Marciano. In that episode, Marciano said he was attracted to Demi and flirted pretty heavily with her. They later had an emotional conversation about relationships, but nothing appeared to happen — she spoke with him about her husband Bret, they hugged and he kissed her on the cheek, and they parted ways. But later, on the show’s reunion special, Marciano alluded to something happening between them off-camera, saying they “had a very strong attraction in the castle that led to something outside of the castle.”
He also suggested Demi hadn’t been the only Mormon wife that caught his eye. “It wasn’t just Demi I was interested in,” he said, prompting speculation about Jessi. During Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season three, which came out earlier this month, Jessi admitted to having an emotional affair with Marciano during a rough patch in her marriage and said they kissed twice while she was briefly separated from her husband. “I wouldn’t say I was in love with him,” Jessi told Us Weekly shortly after the season came out. “It only lasted about two weeks, so it was quick. But I will say I confided in him a lot.”
Demi, meanwhile, has denied that she willingly participated in anything sexual with Marciano. In a May episode of The Viall Files, she claimed she was “groped” during their Vanderpump Villa crossover episode. She didn’t name the alleged perpetrator, but in Mormon Wives’s third season, she told the other stars that anything that happened between her and Marciano was “unwanted touch.” Marciano denied that he’d done anything nonconsensual with Demi, telling People that Demi’s claims are “not only entirely false but profoundly damaging.”
What’s this about pee?
The latest skirmish came after Demi commented on a TikTok of Lisa Vanderpump defending Marciano, writing that Jessi was “somewhere punching air right now that Lisa is talking about me and not her.” That set off Jessi, who posted a screenshot of the comment to her Instagram Story and said she was “loving this Demi crash-out era right now.”
That’s when she shared the pee story, seemingly confirming a long-running Reddit theory that the Fruity Pebbles joke was a reference to peeing in someone’s mouth. “So, since she wants to be petty and be an asshole,” Jessi said in a video on her Instagram Story, “I think I’m just going to go ahead and say that Grandpa Bret likes to drink her piss like it’s dirty soda, and he gulps it down like water, and that’s what Fruity Pebbles is.”
You or I might have struggled to process this string of words, but Demi swiftly responded to the pee allegations with a statement on her Instagram Story. “What my husband and I did one-time behind closed doors, was a consensual and private experience in our marriage,” she wrote before seemingly alluding to what happened with Marciano. “I won’t let a private act between my husband and I be a distraction from a serious act that I did not consent to.” Demi also accused Jessi of bringing this up “only after her own affair has come to light,” writing, “This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to shift attention away from her own behavior.”
Did Jessi say anything after that?
Oh, did she ever. She’s been posting a slew of Instagram Stories ever since, including a screenshot of a TikTok comment of Demi calling her a “fame wh0re.” In a video Story, Jessi said, “Maybe you’re right, Demi, but what you are is much worse. What you are is a liar, you’re a bad person, you’re a bully … This is the Demi that I have had the pleasure of knowing for the past two years.” She also accused Demi of lying about being groped. “Me and you sweetie, we did the exact same thing, and look at how I handled it,” Jessi said, apparently alluding to her affair with Marciano. She went on to claim Demi had shared information about Jessi’s affair with show producers “to leverage more money” — and, for a moment of levity, shared a video of some other Mormon husbands, including her own, eating Cocoa Pebbles.
So, what’s happening now?
Well, these two women who look exactly the same still hate each other. After her many, many Instagram Stories, Jessi claims to be taking a social-media break. Meanwhile, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was just renewed for a fourth season, and there’s a season-three reunion special coming out December 4, so I’m sure we will be hearing even more about this mess soon. Might I suggest watching it over a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
