Safety app Citizen to pay users to go live on the platform

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The popular safety app Citizen is now paying users to go live on the app, according to an Instagram post.

The company posted the announcement on Friday afternoon.

What is Citizen App?

Citizen is a mobile app that provides real-time safety alerts and incident reports based on your location. Users receive notifications about crimes, fires, and emergencies, and can also stream live video of incidents.

How to get paid for using the app

The company posted a social media update, alerting users that they could now be paid for live-streaming incidents that occur around them.

Users can earn up to $400 for a live broadcast. Each eligible live stream earns income that is added to the Citizen user's account. Account holders can cash out at any time, according to the post.
