Kai Trump set to make LPGA Tour debut

Kai Trump, President Trump's granddaughter and a rising amateur golfer, is set to participate in her first LPGA event next month.

Trump was selected by "The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican" to play in the fall series tournament set for Nov. 10-16 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla, the event announced on Tuesday.

The eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr., Kai Trump has committed to the University of Miami's women's golf team starting this fall and is a high school senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Fla.

She has competed in a number of junior and amateur tournaments on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and the Srixon Medalist Tour on the South Florida PGA, with a top finish of third at an event in July.

“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour," Trump said in a statement accepting The Annika's third sponsor's invitation. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”

Trump will join fellow sponsor invite and WNBA standout Caitlin Clark at the event, which is hosted by LPGA legend Annika Sörenstam and includes some of the biggest names in women's professional golf, including Nelly Korda, Charley Hull and Lexi Thompson.

Trump's golf career has been a point of pride for the president, who speaks often about his own game and recently participated in a YouTube video on his granddaughter's channel during which the two played a best ball round at the president's private golf club outside Washington, D.C.
