Tottenham travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City is what is arguably one of the biggest games in the club’s recent history.
If Spurs manage to overcome City, they will progress to the semifinals of the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
Pochettino’s side go into the game with a one-goal advantage courtesy of a Son Heung-Min strike in the first leg. However, the home side are still the favourites to progress to the final four of the competition.
Pep Guardiola’s side have played some exceptional football at home this season and have only slipped up on a couple of occasions, suffering 2-1 losses against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, and against Lyon in the group stages of the Champions League.
When quizzed on what Spurs can learn from Palace’s and Lyon’s performances, Pochettino insisted that the game was going to be completely different as it was a knockout tie, and the only reference will be what happened in the first leg last week.
Speaking as a part of the pre-match press conference, Pochettino told Football.London, “No, Manchester City tomorrow is going to be completely different when play a final like tomorrow.
“It is not a game (Lyon or Palace) that can give some information to us or to use. The reference is the game we play one week ago, the reference is when we play again and the competition is completely different.
“It is going to be tough for us tomorrow, Manchester City for me is one of the best teams in the world and a clear favourite to win the Premier League and to win the Champions League.
“For us to beat them in the first leg was an amazing result, but we know very well the tie is still open and tomorrow is going to be very, very, very tough.”
