According to a report by the Evening Standard, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and manager Mauricio Pochettino will sit down for talks later this week.
Pochettino is expected to wait a few days for the pain of a Champions League final loss to subside before meeting with Levy.
The report claims that a source has told the news outlet that Poch would have been tempted to walk away from the club if he had won the Champions League.
It was thought that guiding the club into a new stadium, their first Champions League final, and their first European Cup would have been an impossible act to repeat or improve on.
However, the source claims there is still unfinished business after the loss to Liverpool, but the Argentine will not be given a huge amount of money due to the stadium debts.
It remains to be seen whether the two can agree terms for Poch to stay for the next chapter, and how much money can be made available to allow him to build on last season.
Spurs Web Opinion:
With the amount of money Spurs made in stadium revenue, ticket sales, advertising, merchandise sales, TV money, Champions League money, and more, it should be now or never from Levy. Spurs will undoubtedly make up any debts on the stadium in no time, but Pochettino will not stick around unless he is given money to spend. Give him as much as possible this summer, and let’s see what he can do next season with financial clout.
