After multiple delays, Tottenham finally managed to move into their state-of-the-art 62,062 capacity new stadium back in April.
The fans, pundits and former players who have been to the venue have all raved about it, with some even labeling it the best stadium in the world.
However, many supporters were left frustrated with the way the ticketing system worked. Fans had to go through an extremely long online queuing system in order to be able to get tickets to games.
The club has now revealed that it will make some drastic changes to the ticketing system to ease the burden of the fans from next season onward.
The main change would be that match day ticket windows will be streamlined such that there will only be seven on-sale windows throughout the season, instead of the nineteen the club had in previous seasons.
It was also revealed that two or three matches will be put on sale at one time and that matches will continue to be sold individually instead of as packages.
Fans were also assured that the club’s ticketing partner, Ticketmaster, will make improvements in their system as soon as possible.
However, some Spurs fans thought that the move to reduce the windows from 19 to 7 would actually be counter-productive, and would make it harder for them to get tickets.
Here’s how some fans reacted on social media:
Am I the only one who thinks this is stupid?

So the ticket touts dream continues. This is ridiculous. Does no one in your office know how to run a project? Oh heard of stakeholders and user groups? Perhaps stop being insular. This new system is now even is easier for touts to abuse. Words fail me!!!

So a system that couldn't cope with sales for a single match, now has to contend with multiple matches??! Not quite sure of the logic here, and unless Ticketmaster makes some huge changes, this could be a monumental shitshow.

This wont work. Large lumps of cash in one hit… some people need to spread the cost wider. Can see the wheel of doom getting slower too.

3 times the amount of games going on sale on the one day window.
Also we have to fork out the price of 3 games at the same time.
"This is improved"
Are you taking the piss? For who?
Less staff required on sale days…— N'PitbullTHFC (@pitbullthfc) July 4, 2019
Putting three games on sale at once will increase load and make things worse, not better. How can you not work that out?

Spurs Web Opinion
While moving into a new stadium with a bigger capacity is definitely a game changer for the club both on and off the pitch, it was always going to come with a new set of challenges. The ticketing system is something that is still a work in progress. Hopefully, all the problems with the system will get ironed out soon.
