Jose Mourinho and Spurs are one of the Premier League clubs to benefit from the recent decision to allow friendlies ahead of the competitive restart.
A report from The Telegraph states that Premier League clubs will be able to compete in non-competitive matches, but only against sides within a 90-minute journey and if the players can transport themselves to the venue.
Before the season was suspended in March, Spurs had several players suffering from long-term injuries, including Harry Kane, Steven Bergwijn, Moussa Sissoko, and Son Heung-Min.
However, Spurs are now set to have a near-fully fit squad, giving Jose Mourinho the chance to reassess his squad options ahead of the Premier League return.
When speaking to Football insider, Kevin Phillips praised the introduction of friendlies and highlighted how great the opportunity is for Jose Mourinho.
He said: “It is another steppingstone. A sensible move and it will all be done safely.
“If I am Jose Mourinho, to be able to play a competitive match before the restart is great.
“In preseason you play about six or seven games before you kick off the season and it sets you up nicely.
“Of course, getting one or two friendlies will certainly help when you go into the first game fitness-wise. It will also give players the vital experience of playing behind-closed-doors.”
Spurs will face Manchester United when the Premier League returns on June 17 and will be crucial in the race for top-four.

Friendlies are a great opportunity for a number of players returning from long injury lay-offs. Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, and Steven Bergwijn will need to hit the ground running once the Premier League returns. Having non-competitive matches allows these players to regain fitness and will be valuable in our hunt for the top-four.
