Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that four of their academy starlets, namely Dennis Cirkin, Dane Scarlett, Marcel Lavinier, and Jamie Bowden, will travel with the first-team squad to Budapest for the first leg of the club’s Europa League round of 31 tie against Wolfsberger.
Jose Mourinho has already given some of his Under-23 and Under-18 players the opportunity to appear in the Europa League this season.
Scarlett was handed a cameo in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Ludogerets in the group stages of the competitions before also coming on in the latter stages in Spurs’ 2-0 win over West Brom in the Premier League two weeks ago.
Harvey White and Jack Clarke also got some minutes under their belt in the group stages and the pair have subsequently been loaned out to Portsmouth and Stoke respectively to get some competitive first-team football under their belt.
Mourinho has said that he will name a strong side for the first-leg against Wolfsberger on Thursday but that has not stopped the Spurs boss from taking Cirkin, Scarlett, Lavinier and Bowden with the squad for their trip to Hungary.

I was hoping to see more of Cirkin this season given how highly Jose spoke about the teenager last season. However, I do not expect any of the four youngsters to get minutes on Thursday unless we are 4-0 or 5-0 up and cruising. The Europa League has now taken up a lot more importance in light of our recent results in the Premier League and I do not expect Mourinho to take any chances.
