According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur will allow Cameron Carter-Vickers to depart the club at the end of the season irrespective of how he performs at Bournemouth.
Carter-Vickers, who has been at Tottenham since the age of 11, has risen through the academy ranks at the club and went on to make four first-team appearances under Mauricio Pochettino.
The centre-back, who has previously had loan spells at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Swansea City, Stoke City and Luton Town, completed a temporary move to Bournemouth last summer.
He did not have the best of starts to his spell with the Cherries as he suffered multiple injuries that kept him out of action for the first few months of the season.
However, the 23-year-old has earned a consistent run of games over recent weeks and seems to have established himself as a regular in Jonathan Woodgate’s side.
Football Insider claim that, irrespective of how Carter-Vickers performs from now until the end of the season, Spurs are likely to allow him to seal a permanent move away from North London.
The central defender’s current deal runs out in the summer and it is claimed that Tottenham have no intention of renewing his contract.
Spurs Web Opinion
At 23 years of age, Carter-Vickers needs to now settle at a club and get consistent football under his belt. He has shown during a couple of his loan spells (including his time at Luton last season) that he is more than good enough for the Championship.
I expect plenty of second-tier clubs to line up for his signature in the summer if he is available on a free transfer.
