PA Sport’s Jonathan Veal has revealed that Gareth Bale was ‘walking gingerly’ when the Welshman arrived for his post-match interviews after Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
Bale’s performances over the past few weeks have shown signs that the winger is returning to his best.
The on-loan Real Madrid star has scored four times and picked up three assists in his last four matches in all competitions.
Bale was handed just his third Premier League start of the season against Burnley yesterday and the wide man put in his best performance of the campaign so far, finding the back of the net twice and setting up Kane’s goal with a pin-point long pass.
Some Spurs fans would have had their hearts in their mouths in the second half as the 31-year-old seemed to be holding his ankle and appeared to be in discomfort.
Bale seemingly got over the issue pretty quickly and was replaced by Erik Lamela later in the second half.
However, Veal revealed on social media after the game that Bale did not seem at ease while walking up to do his media duties.
Here’s what the journalist posted on social media after Tottenham’s win over Burnley:

The fact that Mourinho did not mention anything with regards to an injury for Bale in his post-match interviews and press conference would suggest that the issue is not serious. Hopefully, it is just an impact injury and not any type of muscle issue as it will be a big blow to have Bale out for a few weeks just as he was coming back into form.
