Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting to reports this morning involving Harry Kane.
Sky Sports reported from outside the club’s Hotspur Way training facility that the England captain has failed to turn up for his first day of pre-season training this morning.
There has been plenty of speculation regarding Kane’s future over the last few months, with some reports even previously suggesting that Levy had agreed to sell the striker to City for £160m.
Alasdair Gold claimed recently that Tottenham’s stance remains that the club are not prepared to sell Kane.
Manchester City are tipped to complete a £100m move for Jack Grealish this week but sources indicate that it will not stop them from also pursuing a deal for the Tottenham star.
The Telegraph reported on Saturday that the 28-year-old will make it clear to the Tottenham hierarchy that he wants to move to the Etihad.
While a few Spurs fans were disappointed with Kane on hearing about his intention to push for the move, the some pointed the finger at the club’s hierarchy for not showing enough ambition to convince the striker to stay.
It’s obvious he wants to leave, just let him go

Pretty sure he’s due back tomorrow at the training ground and today he’s got to pass negative covid test.

Dang! I didn’t think Kane had it in him to push through a transfer this way but I guess that’s the only way out when you are up against Daniel Levy!

He’s every right to want to move and to speak publicly about whatever verbal agreement he believes was given last year. Not turning up for training though is unprofessional and unbecoming of an England captain.

Harry Kane has not “not turned up for training“ .. come on, that’s simply not true and it isn’t the type of person he is.
Minority of Spurs fans looking for a reason to hate on a player that is an absolute legend, given his all for our club & if does move, deserves the next level.— Adam Brooks (@EssexPR) August 2, 2021
Kane has turned up for training in the same manner he turns up for finals.

I just can’t see Kane not turning up, he’s the England captain. It would be a terrible look for him.
No chance

Going to make a joke about Kane not turning up when it matters most but it’s Monday morning and I don’t have the energy to pretend this isn’t depressing https://t.co/NEj5iiNsm9

Todays the day Kane returns for training and tells Levy that it’s time for him to leave. No one can blame him tbh.

Spurs Web Opinion
I believe Spurs fans who are turning on Kane are wrong to do so as the striker’s ambition to win silverware is certainly understandable. However, this idea of Daniel Levy being unambitious is a ridiculous assertion pushed by fans who have no idea of what ENIC’s business model is.
We are a self-sustaining club and that will not change under the current ownership. So those who are expecting Joe Lewis to just write a cheque are living in fairyland.
The whole point of investing close to a billion pounds on a new stadium is to ensure that our revenue is at par with the big boys so that we can compete with them over the long term. However, the pandemic occurred at the worst possible time for Spurs, just as we were starting to flex our muscles in the transfer market.
The reality is that we as a club are in a different stratosphere both on and off the pitch, compared to where we were when ENIC brought the club in the early 2000s. We became better as a team despite losing the likes of Berbatov, Modric and Bale in the past and there is no reason the same cannot happen with Kane.
