Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have a genuine interest in Dusan Vlahovic but added that the North London club are likely to move for the Fiorentina striker later in the window.
It was previously reported that while Vlahovic was also attracting interest from Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus, Spurs were at the front of the queue for his signature.
The young striker, who netted 21 goals in the Serie A last season, has allegedly been offered a new contract by Fiorentina but is still said to be tempted by the prospect of a potential move to Spurs (Gazzetta dello Sport).
Meanwhile, some sources have also claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on adding another striker to his squad as he wants to employ a formation with two up front next season.
Gold has now confirmed that the Serbian international is one of the options the Lilywhites are considering.
When asked by a fan in a Q & A if Tottenham’s have a genuine interest in Vlahovic, the journalist responded: “Yes, it is. My feeling is it would be a potential deal they look at more closely later in the window once they get some money in through sales.
“If they can get Romero through the door then he’s going to cost a fair whack and they will need to offset that.”
When asked by another fan if Tottenham are in the market for a striker to partner Kane or one to serve as the England captain’s backup, Gold responded: “The interest in Dusan Vlahovic suggests that Spurs would like to pair him up front with Harry Kane.
“It’d be a huge sum of money to pay out for a striker to then just put him on the bench and play second fiddle to the England captain.
“Nuno Espirito Santo would then have to work out the best formation as Vlahovic is an out-and-out striker and couldn’t really operate playing off Kane as the likes of Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura currently do.”

It is difficult to see us splashing out big money on Vlahovic unless we sell Kane. It might also prove tricky to convince the Serbian to make a move if he does not get a guarantee of regular first-team football.
Perhaps Paratici or Nuno could convince the 21-year-old that he would be Kane’s long-term successor if and when the England captain leaves Spurs in 12 months.
