The Daily Star have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are now willing to consider a Harry Kane sale this summer, but only if Man City can offer a record-breaking fee.
The report claims Spurs would demand £120m for the star striker, as well as another £20m in add-ons from the Manchester club.
These add-ons would reportedly be based on whether Man City go on to win the Premier League and/or Champions League with Kane in the team. It is even said that there could be further add-ons if Kane breaks Alan Shearer’s Premier League record in a Man City shirt.
Tottenham reportedly feel that Man City buying Jack Grealish for £100m has only driven up Kane’s value, especially seeing as the former Aston Villa man is a fringe player for England while Kane is the captain.
It is said that negotiations continue between Spurs and City, but Levy will not accept a £100m bid for Kane, who has been househunting in the North West since March.
Spurs, on the other hand, have reportedly agreed a fee of over £60m with Inter Milan for Lautaro Martinez, who would play alongside Kane rather than replace him (Times).
Spurs Web Opinion:
£140m for Kane this summer, when he certainly wants to leave, would feel fair. Whether or not Man City will come up with that kind of cash after just buying Grealish, I really do not know. The closer we get to the start of the season, the more unlikely it becomes.
