According to a report from La Repubblica, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has given his approval for the Serie A club to snap up Tanguy Ndombele.
Ndombele has not been named in a matchday squad by Nuno Espirito Santo in any of his first three competitive games in charge of Tottenham, amidst reports the midfielder is keen on leaving the club.
Nuno seemed to all but confirm the former Lyon man wants out when asked about Ndombele’s future last week. He insisted that it was not his job to convince anyone to play for Spurs.
Rumours subsequently emerged that Fabio Paratici had offered the 24-year-old to Juventus in a swap deal for Weston McKennie but Fabrizio Romano has since indicated that Spurs are not negotiating with Juve for the American international.
However, La Repubblica have now suggested that the Ndombele-McKennie exchange could still be on.
The report claims that Juventus director Federico Cherubini is a fan of the Frenchman while Paratici likes McKennie.
The two clubs are still said to be trying to strike a deal after Allegri gave a green light to the operation.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am not convinced that McKennie will improve our starting eleven but Paratici obviously knows him well, having worked with him at Juventus last season.
I do suspect, however, that Spurs will be looking for a fee on top of McKennie for Ndombele and so, it remains to be seen whether the operation would be feasible for Juve.
