Stan Collymore has warned Harry Kane that he will lose out on any chance of joining Manchester City in the future if he does not turn around his Tottenham form soon.
After Kane’s proposed move to City fell through in the summer, some sources have indicated that the Premier League champions are unlikely to reignite their interest in the striker in future windows.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has claimed that Kane expects to remain at Tottenham at least until the end of the current season and that the striker could begin talks with the club over a new contract soon.
The England captain’s form at the start of the season has been a major source of concern for Spurs fans, with the 28-year-old looking completely off the pace.
Roy Keane was extremely critical of Kane’s performance and body language in the 3-0 loss to Chelsea over the weekend, with the former Man Utd man insisting that Nuno Espirito Santo should have taken the striker off.
Collymore has now accused Kane of sulking after not getting his move to the Etihad during the summer.
The former Liverpool striker wrote in his column for The Mirror: “I told you about Harry Kane, didn’t I? He’s done at Tottenham.
“But if he thinks downing tools or being moody will get him a move to Manchester City — or any other club, for that matter — in January or next summer then he’s very much mistaken.
“Clubs will pay the dough for a focused Kane but not a pale imitation of the goalscorer supreme who gets just 10 goals this season.
“So if he wants City to come again then he must stop moping and get about doing the business just as he always has done.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think Kane’s struggles over the past few games is due to a lack of desire. It is evident that the striker wants to do well and score goals but I just suspect the pressure associated with trying to force himself out of the club, has got to him.
