Former Gunners man Kevin Campbell has suggested that Arsenal players should hit Giovani Lo Celso with a tough early tackle in Sunday’s North London Derby.
While speaking on YouTube podcast Highbury Squad, Campbell suggested that Lo Celso is a weakness in the Spurs team and that an early hit could expose that.
The Argentine has had a tough couple of weeks, whether it was the international break debacle with quarantine issues or poor performances with fans getting on his back.
Lo Celso was taken off in the 62nd minute during the penalty shoot out win against Wolves in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
With Lucas Moura back in contention and the reintegration of Tanguy Ndombele into the starting eleven, Lo Celso may even have to start the North London Derby on the bench.
However, if he starts the match, Campbell believes Lo Celso is the one to target.
He said: “I think Lo Celso needs a right tough tackle to start with, I tell you.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
The recent backlash against Lo Celso has been harsh. He is going through a rough patch as a Tottenham player but, in the past, he has shown that he can be of value in this squad.
However, his recent performances have been worrying, especially against Chelsea where he was basically non-existent and any time he received the ball he would lose it. It’s a big season for the Argentine.
