According to The Athletic, Lucas Moura has registered the fourth-highest number of pressures per 90 minutes out of all the forwards in the Premier League this season.
Although Moura has had some memorable moments since his move to Tottenham in 2018, he has never quite been able to establish himself as a mainstay in the side.
The Brazilain did thrive as a number ten in the final months of Jose Mourinho’s reign and although there were some rumours over the summer that the 29-year-old could be sold, he ended up staying.
Moura started the season strongly under Nuno Espirito Santo but an ankle injury halted his momentum.
The former PSG man will be hoping to build on his promising start to the campaign over the coming weeks and his pressing numbers certainly show how important he is to the Tottenham side.
The Athletic compared how effective various forwards in the Premier League are when it comes to pressing their opponents and the numbers revealed that Moura has registered 18.8 pressures per 90 minutes.
That puts the Tottenham man in fourth place in the Premier League behind just Wilfried Zaha, Neal Maupay and Diogo Jota.
The only other Spurs forward to feature in the top 25 was Son Heung-min with 12.3 pressures per game, which puts him in 21st place.

This shows the importance of having Moura in the side if Nuno does wish to employ a more high-pressing, possession-based style than we have seen in recent weeks.
The Brazilian’s absence certainly affected the side against Crystal Palace and Chelsea as pressing is arguably the weakest aspect of Kane’s game, and so he ideally needs the likes of Bergwijn and Moura to do the leg work for him.
