Some Spurs fans on social media are extremely excited to hear reports that Antonio Conte has allegedly asked the club to sign Gareth Bale.
Bale’s return to Tottenham last season on loan did not prove to be the fairytale Spurs fans would have hoped for as the winger struggled to get a regular run in the side under Mourinho.
The returning superstar still demonstrated his quality in the final third when opportunities came his way, eventually finishing the season with 16 goals in all competitions.
However, all was clearly not well behind the scenes, with Mourinho even publicly criticising the 32-year-old for an Instagram post back in February.
The Real Madrid attacker also never got to play in front of a packed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to Covid restrictions last campaign.
OkDiario’s Eduardo Inda claimed on popular Spanish TV show El Chiringuito on Wednesday that Conte rejected Daniel Levy’s offer to bring Eden Hazard to Spurs and instead told the Spurs chairman to bring Bale back to the club.
Reacting to the report, some Tottenham fans are convinced that the experienced winger would be a revelation under Conte’s stewardship.
Some fans are also desperate to see Bale play in front of a packed stadium at Spurs after what transpired last season.
ONE LAST DANCE, PLEASE

Bale wasn't a flop last season. If we can get him in on loan in January, under Conte, as a squad option, it's got to be worth it. With the crowd back at White Hart Lane it would be a lovely thing to see. Would be so exciting to see him in the flesh again. pic.twitter.com/32PYDWxhu6

I want a Bale part 3 so badly. Why are we all so sentimental
Just imagine him under Conte in a proper system, back in front of the fans properly again

Spurs Web Opinion
I have my doubts over whether the report has any truth to it, particularly given Conte’s insistence on fitness and his tendency to work players very hard in training. Perhaps, the Italian would use the Welshman mainly as an impact substitute.
Bale’s salary demands could also be a barrier, although that is not insurmountable as the club could just pay him a sizable signing-on fee and then offer him around £200,000-a-week to ensure he falls within their wage ceiling.
