Hugo Lloris has revealed that the repetition of patterns in training under Antonio Conte is now helping the side create more chances for the likes of Harry Kane.
Tottenham’s results have been extremely inconsistent over the last couple of months but they have had no issues finding the back of the net with regularity.
Following the win over Brighton, Conte pointed out that his side have scored plenty of goals in tough away grounds over recent weeks despite the mixed results and insisted that the team’s improvements are clear to see (Football.London).
Kane has certainly been a beneficiary, with the striker’s tally now up to 12 Premier League this season – the joint third highest in the division (Premierleague.com).
When asked about why the Lilywhites are fashioning more opportunities for their talisman, Lloris told Football.London: “It is difficult to explain. The doors are closed at the training ground and you can not see the way we train. The repetition of movements help the team to create chances and obviously, Harry is a huge player for us.
“We all know his importance and probably when he is at his best, he gives more chances for the team to win, but again, it is not only about Harry, it is about everyone to keep improving individually and also for the team, and to push, to push every day and be ready to face all the teams we will face. It is as simple as that. Harry, after years and years, has a big influence on the scoresheet for us.”
Tottenham’s win at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday and Arsenal’s defeat to Liverpool means that Conte’s men kept pace with their rivals in the race for Champions League qualification.
Spurs now just sit three points off the Gunners in fourth place but Lloris insisted that he and his teammates are taking it one game at a time with their rivals having a game in hand.
When asked about the club’s top-four ambitions, he said: “With a lot of ‘ifs’ we could do a lot of things better. I want to stay realistic and the only way is to go game by game and be focused on the present and then we will see what we deserve at the end of the season but the most important thing is to keep our chances alive and to finish the season strong is a good way to start the next one.
The Frenchman stressed that Spurs are still a work in progress as the players are still getting accustomed to Conte’s ideas.
Lloris added: “We need to take into consideration this is a process and to adapt to the manager and for the manager to know his player and step by step we will work out and improve.”

The fact that we are still in touching distance of fourth place despite our inconsistency over the last couple of months, shows that the level of the sides we are competing against is not that high.
Neither Man Utd nor West Ham looks capable of putting a run of results together while Arsenal, despite their good form, has an extremely tricky fixture list.
So the race for fourth could well go down to the final couple of weeks of the season and the scheduling of the North London derby could have a major impact on who clinches the spot.
