Fabrizio Romano has predicted that Harry Kane will be a Tottenham Hotspur player next season if Antonio Conte stays at the club.
Kane will have just two years left to run on his contract with Spurs in the summer (Transfermarkt) and there has been plenty of speculation over the striker’s future over the last couple of months.
The Athletic revealed recently that Manchester United are set to prioritise a move for the England captain this summer irrespective of who replaces Ralf Rangnick as their head coach.
Meanwhile, Conte’s future at Spurs also looked in doubt until not too long ago, with the Italian even hinting after the Lilywhites’ loss to Burnley that he might not be the man to turn the club’s fortunes around (Football.London).
However, the 52-year-old has looked and sounded a much more content figure over recent weeks in light of the team’s impressive form.
Romano predicted that Spurs will not cash in on Kane this summer if Conte is still in charge next season. The journalist also revealed that, as things stand, Tottenham have no plans to let the 28-year-old leave the club.
Romano said on the latest episode of the Here We Go Podcast (starting at 15:01): “If Antonio Conte will stay at Tottenham as a manager next season, my feeling is, Harry Kane will be there.
“Harry Kane will be a Tottenham player because Antonio Conte wants this winning mentality, wants this ambition and ambition means the top player, Harry Kane has to stay.
“So, if Conte will stay, I see also Harry Kane staying at Tottenham in the summer. At the moment, Tottenham are absolutely not planning to sell him. So, it is not going to be an easy club despite the rumours.”

I also do not think there is any chance of Spurs letting Kane leave this summer even if we fail to qualify for the Champions League. I do not see Kane signing a new contract but the Tottenham hierarchy would be hoping that the striker might change his mind next season if the team improves significantly under Conte.
