Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur held fresh talks with Christian Eriksen last week and the North London club are keen on bringing the Dane back to the club.
Multiple publications over the last couple of months have credited Spurs with an interest in re-signing Eriksen on the back of his impressive displays for Brentford (90min and London World).
Fabrizio Romano said on the Que Golazo Podcast recently that despite Tottenham’s interest in the attacking midfielder, the player’s priority is to sit down with Brentford to listen to their proposal first.
Tipsbladet’s editor-in-chief, Allan Olsen, (as translated by Sport Witness) has also claimed the Denmark International has not closed the door on penning a long-term contract at the Brentford Community Stadium.
However, the journalist added that the ‘arrow points so much in the direction of Tottenham’ for the attacking midfielder.
Jones has now asserted that Spurs are determined to bring Eriksen back to the club after qualifying for the Champions League.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “In terms of Christian Eriksen, it is definitely still something that’s on their horizon. There were new talks last week, just to check where his mindset was at and seeing what Brentford’s offer was to him.
“Tottenham definitely want Eriksen back, especially now they have got Champions League football. Usually, you say no going back, but with Eriksen that is not how they’re thinking.”

Signing Eriksen would make a lot of sense for Spurs since both Lo Celso and Ndombele are on their way out of the club this summer.
The Dane would give Conte the flexibility to switch to a 3-5-2 and the fact that he is available for free would mean that the North Londoners can use all of their transfer budget on addressing key areas like left centre-back and midfield.
However, I am sceptical if Tottenham will be able to snap up Eriksen as the transfer might not make sense for the 30-year-old, who would not be guaranteed regular game time under Conte.
