Brentford are ready to smash their wage structure in a bid to keep Christian Eriksen at the club, according to The Telegraph.
The Dane joined the Premier League newcomers at the end of the January transfer window on a six-month contract having made his return to professional football following the cardiac arrest he suffered during his country’s opening fixture at Euro 2020 last summer.
Eriksen is currently a free agent following the conclusion of his contract and the Bees have made it clear to the playmaker they plan to make him their highest-paid player if he agrees to extend his stay at the club.
His former club Tottenham and Leicester City are both also said to be interested in his signature this summer.
Sky Sports claimed earlier this week that the 30-year-old has been left intrigued by Antonio Conte’s comments about the possibility of a return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and wants to play in the Champions League.
Eriksen is said to be settled in London having made the move back to the capital after his contract at Inter Milan was mutually terminated.

Eriksen would be a shrewd signing given the fact he would be available on a free transfer and has previous experience not only at Spurs, but also having worked with Antonio Conte at Inter.
It remains to be seen whether the lure of a return to Spurs and Champions League football will outweigh him having the opportunity to play practically almost every game at Brentford where competition for places is not as fierce.
