Yves Bissouma has admitted that he is excited to wear the famous Tottenham shirt and that he cannot wait to get started on his new journey at the North London club.
Tottenham officially announced on Friday that they had agreed on a deal with Brighton for the transfer of Bissouma, who became the club’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.
According to Football.London, Spurs have agreed on an initial fee of £25m with Brighton for the midfielder, which could rise to £30m including add-ons.
The Lilywhites reportedly beat out both Aston Villa and Newcastle United to snap up the 25-year-old, with the Villans also allegedly making an offer to Brighton for the player this summer (90 min).
In his first interview with Spurs TV, Bissouma talked about the journey he has been on right from playing football in the streets of Mali as a youngster and admitted that he has always dreamed of playing in the Champions League.
He has now taken to social media to thank those involved for facilitating his move to Spurs and expressed his pride at joining the club.
His Instagram post read: “It is with great pride that I accept the wonderful challenge offered by Tottenham Hotspur. I would particularly like to thank the Club and its President for the trust they have placed in me.
“I would also like to thank my intermediaries AMS agency @ibouncho and my legal team @elevenandlaw for the incredible work they have done over the last few weeks.
“I am looking forward to this new challenge and to work with my new coach and teammates. Impatient and excited to wear the jersey of this amazing club! C’mon you SPURS!”

Spurs Web Opinion
Most new signings repeat the same cliches about being proud to represent the club but Bissouma’s words, both in his interview with Spurs TV and his social media post, comes across as extremely genuine.
One can tell that he is hungry to prove himself at the top level, and I see the 25-year-old being a mainstay of our midfield for many years to come.
