Dane Scarlett netted a first-half brace to help England Under-19s to a 4-0 win over Serbia yesterday.
England’s young guns continue to impress in the Under-19s European Championship and they sealed progression to the semi-final after thumping Serbia on Wednesday.
It was Scarlett who opened the scoring just five minutes into the game as the Tottenham striker produced a smart finish after some excellent work from Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Aston Villa’s Carney Chukwuemeka.
The striker then doubled England’s lead five minutes before half-time as Arsenal defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy’s found his near-post run.
England scored two more after the interval through Chukwuemeka and Daniel Jebbison to add more gloss to the score line.
The Times journalist Henry Winter raved about Scarlett’s performance, stating that the Serbians could not cope with the Spurs youngster.
Dane Scarlett #thfc movement excellent for #eng at #U19Euros. Serbs can't cope with Scarlett. They seek him here, they seek him there but can’t catch him. Eased away from marker for 1st goal, near-post run for 2nd. Brooke Norton-Cuffy #afc again impressing on the right. 2-0 h-t.

Meanwhile, Alfie Devine also got 30 minutes under his belt after replacing Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam at the hour mark.

Spurs Web Opinion
While Tottenham have reportedly decided to loan out Alfie Devine (The Athletic), so it will be interesting to see if they do the same with Scarlett.
Perhaps, Conte might decide it would be best for the striker to continue training with the first team during the first half of the campaign.
However, I would not be surprised if Spurs looked to loan the teenager out to a League One club in January.
