Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham have not held talks with any club regarding Harry Kane since their negotiations with Manchester City in the summer of 2021.
Kane’s current contract with Spurs runs out at the end of next season (Transfermarkt), with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold predicting last week that the North London club will surely begin negotiations with the striker over a new deal with the striker before too long.
However, in the meantime, multiple reports have suggested that Bayern Munich remain keen on snapping up the England captain, with 90 min even suggesting that Tottenham are becoming ‘increasingly concerned’ about the Bundesliga giants’ interest in the player.
SportBild (26/09/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness) even claimed on Monday that the 29-year-old’s agent has ‘already been assured’ by the Bayern hierarchy that they will make an offer for him next summer if he does not sign a new contract with Spurs.
However, Romano has now revealed that while Julian Nagelsmann’s side are ‘dreaming’ of signing Kane, Tottenham have not entertained any talks on the striker’s future since last summer.
The journalist told Que Golazo Podcast: “At the moment, internally Bayern Munich are dreaming of Harry Kane, they are dreaming of Harry Kane and from what I’m told they consider Harry Kane the perfect striker for Bayern, for their style, their approach and their strategy, and the image of Harry Kane could be perfect for Bayern.
“There is a big problem and it’s called Tottenham. They love Harry Kane and they’ve never had any conversation with Bayern or any other club after the Manchester City saga.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think Tottenham would be forced into the negotiating table with Bayern or any other club regarding Kane, even if the striker stalls on signing a new contract. I am optimistic that there will be some movement on Kane’s contract before the start of the World Cup.
